Winter Play

OUR Second MAINSTAGE SHOW OF THE SEASON IS OUR Winter Play:
Let your acting shine in our non-musical production!

Highlighting the art of connection and storytelling, Winter Play is an opportunity for performers to focus entirely on acting. Cast members will strengthen their abilities to create a character, analyze text and beats within a script, and harness their power to affect and be affected by language, both spoken and physical. The Winter Play audition process is open to performers of all ages, although those who audition are not guaranteed a role.

JUNIOR CAST (GRADES 1 - 6)

The whimsical worlds of Oz and Wonderland collide in this clever romp adapted from the works of L. Frank Baum and Lewis Carroll. Dorothy Gale has made her way to the end of the Yellow Brick Road, but before she’s able to return home in the Wizard’s balloon, another strange wind sweeps her away to Wonderland. Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion come face-to-face with Alice, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, and more. Dorothy quickly teams up with Alice, and her friends put their new assets of brains, heart, and courage to the test against the Queen of Hearts.

SENIOR CAST (GRADES 7 - 2025 Grads)

After returning from Neverland, Wendy Darling is faced with the earth-shattering yet incredibly common task of growing up and moving on from a first love nobody else quite understands. As she explores what it means to reclaim what she lost to the boy who promised to come back, she encounters other girls who also came and went from Neverland, and grapples with memories that become less and less reliable. What unfolds is a beautifully haunting coming-of-age story of what happens when the whirlwind fairytale that was supposed to last forever eventually comes to a quiet and ordinary end.
